Located in port Melbourne, this tired house was due for some tlc. With listening to the customer proposed vision we managed to transform this property into another unique Melbourne home which caught the eye of the general public and was featured in Melbourne Home & living publication for its simple detail and unique style.
Taken aback by the finished renovation our clients dreams were exceeded and their hopes for a total transformation of their old building to a modern and comfortable home was met.
As expected we encountered a few challenges while finishing the renovation. Still, there was no stone left unturned. Being a Master Builders Green Builder we encouraged the customers to let us have some extra input in the design to make the house a bit more comfortable throughout Melbourne’s up and down climate, We replaced all the old windows with superior double glazed glass & black frame windows inc weather sealing all joins and gaps throughout the property, changing over all the lighting with led lighting and so on.
Moving forward we created a completely new space using basic but uplifting teqnuiqes with dominant steel framed gates mixed with natural black but timber, intercom systems, a new sitting space labeled ‘the bourbon room’ which also overlooked the unique view of the front black butt decking and trim lighting, We also built a large alfresco area in all blackbutt decking and timber, stotage sheds, planter boxes and unique steel framed shade screen with blackbutt battens – This was a much improved addition rather than the bare old concrete courtyard before hand.
To crown it all, we added custom exterior stones (new to the market), outdoor cabinets, servery bar and commercial bifolds windows with a large feature piece being the huge sliding architectural door (double glazed), This door was a project on its own to meet the outside to the inside areas of the building while keeping the architectural style and feel the clients were after. Finally, for the grand beautification, we applied new timber floors throughout.
Welcoming you into the newly renovated building, the first attraction to this masterpiece is the incredible view coming inside and looking through a large feature door over a alfresco area, wile this door itself was a great accomplishment, the 2x steel doors that devide the ‘bourbon room’ and living room seem to ad the finishing touches to the inside.
The inside doors were custom made by us following the finest Melbourne craft to deliver an elegant yet simple divider between rooms and portraying the taste in mid century modern scope.
